I see your website prices are now in Canadian funds. Didn’t they used to be listed in American dollars?
Yes they did. But the volatility of the Canadian dollar over the past couple of years has caused us to take a “cost certainty” approach to pricing. Now it’s the Canadian dollar price that is firm and the U.S. dollar variable, as opposed to vice-versa. All U.S. $$$ orders will receive a 3%-5% discount off the Canadian price. This amount will vary as the exchange rate changes. International orders will also be billed in Canadian funds, with the purchase price being converted back to their domestic currency by the credit card companies. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-461-0965.
How come your shipping charges aren't listed with my order?
There are too many variables involved with shipping to list just one
standard price with each online order. Points we have to take into consideration
when arriving at a shipping charge include destination, size and weight
of package, insurance, carrier, and class of service.
Generally, we ship packages with a value over $100 via UPS. There is
a minimum $16-$18 fee for this service. We can also send shipments via Canada
Post, Purolator, Fedex, or any other carrier of the customer's choosing. Our minimum shipping charges are $6 to Canada and $8 to the U.S.
We prefer sending all orders well packaged via insured courier. It costs
a little extra, but shipping using this method protects both parties in
case of loss or damage. Once again, you are free to call our customer
service line (800-461-0965) at any time to obtain an exact shipping quote.
I just received my invoice. How come the total I was charged
on my Visa statement differs from the total on my receipt?
We have to run all of our credit card orders through our terminal in
Canadian funds. Therefore we have to convert all U.S. currency orders
to Canadian dollars.
When you receive your monthly statement from your credit card company,
the amount will be converted back to U.S. funds (if you are an American
customer) and should jibe with your invoice total.
*** This is actually the most common question we receive. Many people
do not realize that (at current exchange rates) $106 Canadian is the same
as $100 American. They think we are trying to make extra profit on them.
I can definitely say that this is not the case.
How do I know the item I am interested in is legitimate?
Will I get a Certificate of Authenticity with my order?
If you have not done so already, please check out the rest of the website.
We make a point to include numerous photos of players signing autographs
for us and posing in front of our stores (see right). This is done for
the purpose of CREDIBILITY. There is no company in the field of autographed
hockey memorabilia that is more credible than Frozen Pond.
We have conducted autograph sessions with hundreds of professional athletes,
and have pictures with most of them to prove it. We are endorsed by the
NHL, the Hockey Hall of Fame, and Power Play International - the official
company of Gordie Howe. We are as legitimate as they come.
The validity of one of our autographs has never been questioned.
And yes, you will get a certificate of authenticity with every autograph
purchase.
Can I send my own item in and have you get it signed the
next time you're with that player?
Sorry, but this is not a service that we offer. Warehousing merchandise
for collectors offers plenty of risk on our part, with very little reward.
Our public and private autograph sessions are well advertised in our
mailings and on our website. You are more than welcome to send in your
own item to get signed at any of these solicited events.
Is that really Gordie Howe on your answering machine message?
Yes it is. Gordie came to the Grand Opening of our current retail location
in November of 2007, and recorded our answering machine messages. He has
also been to Frozen Pond twice since that date. Gordie Howe is truly one
of a kind.
