These miniature Avco World Trophies were given to members of the 1973-74 Houston Aeros to celebrate their Avco Cup Championship. This specific one was awarded to hockey great Marty Howe and it's been a cherished part of his personal collection ever since. 1973-74 was Marty's first season in Houston and he was joined by his brother Mark as well as his legendary father Gordie, who came out of retirement to play with them. At the young age of 19-20 that year, Marty had solid professional rookie season on Houston's blueline, scoring 24 points. The Howe's had instant success in Houston (obviously) and went on to win a second Avco World Trophy the following season.

The trophy stands 13" tall with a plate on the front that proudly displays the team and Marty's name. The reverse displays a plate engraved with all winning players and executives. The Avco World Trophy was only awarded for seven seasons from 1972-1979. Player trophies such as this are incredibly scarce.
